Inclusive Marketing 101

The ReadySet Inclusive Marketing workshop provides organizations with the tools to approach marketing and design inclusively. In this session, participants will learn about different forms of bias, how it manifests in marketing and how this impacts marginalized communities.

Participants will be given concrete tools to evaluate content creation with an eye for bias reduction and to support innovative and inclusive marketing approaches. This workshop empowers marketing teams to build new norms through case studies and/or scenarios for content standards and to develop a collective vision for ongoing marketing efforts.

  • Level-setting on being inclusive in marketing and why it matters

  • A framework for assessing content with a DEI lens and reducing harm and bias in content creation

  • Understanding bias in marketing, how it manifests, and tangible actions to interrupt bias in marketing practice

Methodology

Learning sessions are highly interactive and participatory to encourage active learning and engagement with the material. Workshops will likely include lecture presentation, large group discussion and scenario discussion facilitated through virtual tools.
